The Animal Orphanage is at the heart of the Mt. Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. The Conservancy seeks to prevent the extinction of endangered wildlife species by breeding the animals with a view to returning them to their natural habitat.
It was set up by internationally acclaimed movie star the late William Holden, TV personality and conservationist, the late Don and his wife Iris Hunt. The Conservancy also hosts several animal species, including a herd of rare white zebras, Zoo bred bongo, Llama and the rare mangaboon. The Conservancy is fun filled and offers children great opportunity for learning.
